Quick Tip for Your Week: Chunking the Calendar

You run a business while handling the stresses of daily life like a pro. However, even superheroes need a backup once in awhile.

Chunking is basically a term that may give you a throwback moment from your high school or even college days. Chunking is when you take a huge project and break it down into smaller parts over the course of a set period of time. Life requires chunking, sometimes. If you have a huge presentation due for work or a deadline that has to be met, take it easy. The calendar is your friend. Take it week by week and set a daily goal for yourself. Once you have your goals down, cut the calendar

Take the calendar and cut it into sections by week. Now that you have your sections, try to allot your time effectively. Keep in mind that things may change over the course of the week so use a pencil to jot down your future plans.

Post the calendar strips somewhere you will easily see them week-by-week. When the week is over take note of how much you’ve accomplished and if you have any unaccomplished tasks, move them into the following week.

By viewing your schedule a week at a time, it helps to motivate you to get everything done without feeling overwhelmed and strapped for time.
