Web Celeb Wednesday: Celebrity Business Fails
Everyone may feel like a failure from time to time. Sometimes, we just need a fresh perspective or the conviction that we can aspire to do better and greater things.
Failure should be viewed as something that just didn’t work out because it wasn’t the right time or maybe it wasn’t the right fit for you. In honor of anyone who has ever failed at something (business- or otherwise), we present to you celebs who have landed in their own failure.
Without much ado, these are famous people who have also been dealt a solid blow from the business world:
Kanye West (Pastelle Clothing): Kanye is a successful rap artist, producer, and entrepreneur but even the most successful people have their falls. The line, for whatever reason, never made it into launch. Unlike Yeezy, his already famous brand, Pastelle was left on the drawing board. Sadly the line only saw the lights of two Paris runway shows before the curtains came to an abrupt close.
Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian (The Kardashian Kard): In late 2010, the famous Kardashian sisters launched a prepaid debit card generated towards young adults who weren’t very “financially sophisticated”. The Kardashian Kard came with crazy fees. Opening the card would cost $99.95, purchasing the card was $9.95 with a 12-month fee of $7.95 after having the card for a year. The card didn’t last very long as the cardholders became aware of all of the additional fees. It was shut down in less than a month.
Britney Spears (Nyla): The famous pop star, Britney Spears debuted her restaurant Nyla, which introduced Cajun foods to the Manhattan area. However, it was short lived since there were many health code violations, high staff turnover and lots of negative publicity. It was a brave attempt for Spears, who was just 21-years-old at the time.
