Persistence Over Perfection

Persistence is way more powerful than perfection. The ability to hold on or to get back up after being knocked down is essential to achieve any real success. Persistence is a lot more forgiving than perfection. Perfection asks you to do all things right without messing up. Be realistic and have the knowledge that there will be failures and imperfections along the way, but the key is how we deal with these failures that will determine the outcome of any endeavor that we undertake.

Keep in mind patience, progression and persistence while on a mission to reach our goals rather than seeking perfection seek progression. No one is perfect and having that mindset is an all or nothing approach. Persistence, on the other hand, gives you the flexibility to roll with the punches – make a mistake, recover, and move on.

In order to be a great leader, we need to develop persistence. The qualities that will carry us through to achieve our goals are often the same ones that are necessary for great leadership as well. Persistence can overcome almost any challenge. When you put your mind to something and are willing to do everything it takes, including patients, putting in the time and adjusting your strategy to get there. Being persistent will be tough, but not impossible, whereas perfection is impossible!

Many will look up to you when you choose persistence over perfection because this will set the tone of how teams or departments react when facing adversity. Having the quality to inspire as well as persevere will be key to your personal growth and success.
